What question marks usually mean
When CC shows as question marks, shiny red/white textures, invisible items, or broken swatches, the most common causes are missing meshes, outdated files, or a download that was not fully extracted.
Check for a required mesh
Some recolors need the original mesh from another creator. Go back to the download page and look for words like mesh required, download mesh, or requires original.
Make sure the file was extracted
If the download came as a .zip, .rar, or .7z file, extract it first. Then place the .package file in your Mods folder.
Remove duplicates and old versions
If you have two versions of the same item, the old file can conflict with the new one. Keep the newest version and move the older copy out of your Mods folder.
Safe test: Make a tiny test folder with only the broken item and its required mesh. If it works alone, the problem may be a conflict with another file.
